New compressors are an attractive option to consider when increasing the abilities of a compressed air system or just replacing old equipment.

As with most new equipment today, there are many options to consider when choosing a new compressor. Careful consideration should be made when choosing a new compressor so that the right compressor fits the need.
Variable speed, constant run, stop-start and other load options are just a few of the issues to consider. Water-cooled or air cooled, open or enclosed unit, voltage limitations should also be evaluated.
The most common issue today however, seems to be how the unit is controlled. Basically there are two options: Microprocessor control and analog control. The microprocessor is a method of controlling the compressor using temperature and pressure modules that transmit an electronic signal to the microprocessor enabling the compressor to perform as programmed.
Analog controls rely on the traditional means of compressor control using electric and pneumatic signals to control the compressor. Either one will get the desired results.
Extended warranties are also an area to be considered when buying new compressors.
