Worthington Refrigerated Air Dryers

Increase your compressor’s productivity and efficiency.

One of the easiest and most efficient ways to increase your compressor’s productivity and drive down expenses is to remove moisture from your compressed air systems. Water removal will enable pneumatic controls and instruments to perform at 100% by preventing corrosion and premature failure of internal components.

Using refrigerant to lower the temperature and dew point of the compressed air, our dryers condenses the moisture into liquid that is separated and drained away from the compressed air system. The final result is clean and dry compressed air that is ready to be used in your facility without causing any damage to your controls or tools.

Example

This example of a 100 HP compressor operating 16 hours per day illustrate the effectiveness of a dryer under the following assumptions: (1) the compressor produces 500 CFM at 100 HP, (2) the relative humidity is 50%, (3) the ambient temperature is 100° F.

This compressor delivers 52 gallons of water during 16 hours of operation as it compresses air from a typical 14.7 PSIG to 100 PSIG. The chart below shows how much water may be going into your system under varying conditions.

This water can mix with hot synthetic or petroleum lubricants and form an acidic substance that will cause failure of your pneumatic tools, controls, and equipment.
